As a result of the generosity of Edith Faulkner, her home was sold and the proceeds payable to the church. Part of the sale proceeds went to Community Ministry/Outreach.
One of the groups which we supported with these funds was the HALO Project Smiling Faces Children’s Dental Program. Children ages 3 through 18 will receive a free dental screening as well as dental supplies to use for proper oral hygiene at home. Over the last 2 years, over 400 children each year have been able to receive appropriate dental care.
We received a thank you letter from HALO Project which reads in part, “HALO Project is so fortunate to have you as a community partner. Because of your wonderful donation, HALO Project’s Smiling Faces Dental Days program can continue to enhance the promotion of healthy oral hygiene and to increase access to oral health care for at risk children.
The Central Christian Church’s goal of helping to make a difference in people’s lives in the community dovetails with HALO Project’s goal of providing oral health maintenance and childhood cavities prevention for the children of our area, particularly those from low-income families and minority populations.
We are grateful for the difference the Central Christian Church is making in our community. We thank you for your wonderful support of the Presence United Samaritan Medical Center and HALO Project’s efforts to improve the dental health and wellness of the children and their families that we are privileged to serve.”
