The season of Advent is one of the most joyous and meaningful of the year. During these four weeks leading up to Christmas, we anticipate the birth of a baby but not just any baby. This baby is Jesus, the Savior of the world.
This year, the focus of our celebration of Advent is “More Than a Baby.” The fact that we celebrate a baby born more than 2000 years ago is amazing. The reason, of course, is that this baby was God in human form. This same baby became the one who healed people, taught God’s will, died for our sins, and was raised from the dead. The amazing joy of Jesus’ birth can only be fully appreciated in light of all that he did here on this earth. At Christmas, we truly celebrate “more than a baby.”
Each Sunday, beginning December 1, both the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services will be a special time of worship designed to help us fully celebrate this wonderful season of Advent. The worship space will be beautifully decorated, we will sing the joyous music of the season, hear messages focused on helping us understand the full nature of Jesus, as well as celebrate the Lord’s Supper. This year, of course, will be even more meaningful with our presentation of Bethlehem Live on December 14 and 15. All of our celebrations will culminate with two worship services on Christmas Eve at 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate Emmanuel–God with us!
