We are in the process of updating pictures of our church family into a directory and also for bulletin boards in the main hallway. Photo shoot sessions have been offered at church. Some have sent in digital pictures.
We are willing to accept any digital picture of your family for our Church Family Directory ( vacation, family shots, etc.)
Just email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Check the bulletin board in the main hallway. We want to get this completed before our new pastor arrives!
Are you and your family missing?
The Dwelling Place of Vermilion County would like to thank Central Christian for allowing us to meet at the church until we are off the ground and have a place to call home. Like CU at Home, The Dwelling Place is a Christian faith based non-profit (we are working on that now) organization with the primary mission of developing a drop-in day center for our friends without addresses in Danville, This will not be at Central Christian Church. The Dwelling Place of Vermilion County is not an outreach of Central Christian Church. We do need your prayers! If you have questions or wish to help in this endeavor, please see Patsy Jones.
Summer camp is coming. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois and Wisconsin offers two settings for church camp: Pilgrim Park (PP) up north and Camp Walter Scott (CWS) down south, with the exception of a special camp at First Christian in Peoria (FC). Our church supports youth going to camp by paying half of the costs of registration. (If a camper needs more assistance to be able to go, we can work that out as well.) Below is a schedule. Please note that the grade is the grade completed. There are other opportunities for family camp, grandparents and me, and post-high camp too. Please see the bulletin board by the stairs for more information.

This summer, on July 8 – 12, the General Assembly of the Christian Church (DOC) in the United States and Canada will take place in Indianapolis. The theme for this year’s gathering is simply the word “One.”
This gathering gives those who attend the opportunity to join in worship with other members of our denomination from across the United States and Canada. There will be inspirational preaching, helpful workshops, and lots of information on Christian Church (DOC) ministries and resources. For the first time in twelve years, this assembly will also feature the election of a new General Minister and President for the Christian Church (DOC). Up to three lay people who register from our congregation will have voting privileges in that election and in the business sessions of the General Assembly.
This General Assembly also offers the advantage of taking place close enough to Danville that a person can easily commute to each day’s session. You can gather further information or make your reservations at ga.disciples.org.
