During a meeting of the Regional Commission on Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest on January 28, Jessica Vacketta had her final ordination interview. After answering questions from the 20+ members of the commission about the Bible, theology, pastoral ministry, counseling, and her own unique gifts and sense of calling, they unanimously approved Jessica for ordination following her May graduation from Brite Divinity School. Cyndy Twedell, who sat in the interview with Jessica as a member of her Congregational Care Team, raved about how phenomenal her answers were as she fielded tough questions and hypothetical scenarios. In fact, the members of the commission even applauded one of her answers. (Something I’ve never heard of!)
Jessica will graduate from Brite on May 11, and her ordination service is tentatively scheduled for May 12 at 3 p.m. in the University Christian Church sanctuary (Ft. Worth, TX). Be sure to congratulate Jessica the nexttime you see her, or send her an e-mail at Jessica@uccftw.com letting her know you’re proud of her!
Jessica grew up at Central Christian Church and is the daughter of Ted and Betsy Vacketta.
